Being an Energy Believer and a keen interest in cooking, I often used to look for Ayurveda tips and tricks to follow while cooking or during some pain for myself. I even bought some authentic Ayurvedic books from Gorakhpur Press that narrates "Charak Samhita" in a simpler way, but that simpler way was still hard for me. So while simply browsing on the specific category of books, I stumbled upon it and as I recollect it was the cover design that made me Add it to the cart, and I decided to buy it. And I feel my soul knew I needed this badly

Everyday Ayurveda: Daily Habits That Can Change Your Life in a Day is a book written by Bhaswati Bhattacharya. Based out of Manhattan she is a licensed, board-certified physician, integrating 'Good Medicine' with Ayurveda for the past fifteen years.

The book starts with a simple narration on how she was adapted to urban lifestyle and culture where she considered herself efficient, pleased and accomplished. But after few years, when she started gaining weight, her hairs were dry and gut was bloated, a deep voice questioned her — Why some people in their eighties are healthy while others got sick, and thus began her exploring of Ayurveda.

Setting the stage and connecting to the audience [like me ] who have been immersed in the urban lifestyle popping pills and ignoring subtle signs of depletion, it made me curious to know her rest of the journey on how she hit back and what are the tips she would offer.

That's when she starts the narration of how her parents start their routine with Ayurveda. The whole story revolves around her home,parents, guests and kids. In a way Bhaswati is trying to make a point that

one need not put in efforts to follow Ayurveda practices, they can very easily be weaved into your daily life.

She also makes sure to provide proper reasoning on why a particular task needs to be done, its benefits and if there are any limitations.

The book also offers a quick tip on how while traveling you can continue Ayurveda practices and what all one needs to carry in your ayurvedic travel bag as a quick fix.

The story continues with tips on how with a new season, what changes one should adopt to and as a kid how she perceived it. So while she is storytelling about her house, parents and siblings in a very simple way she imparts the wisdom of Ayurveda.

The book talks about each aspect of any individual from the start of the day to when you sleep, speaks about each body part to be taken care of, and how it is to be done hence indeed a must for people looking to explore quick and easy information about Ayurveda.

Her simple narration with a homely background helps, how easily one could attune themselves to the natural cycle. As she says —

What we need is not to be younger, but to be revitalized, resilient, reconnected with our hearts and re-energized to journey through the learning that is life. She stresses a lot on "Dinacharaya [Daily activities based on cycle of nature]" that helps in attaining the balance and restore agni, strengthening our mind and connects us to our soul.

The only thing that I felt lacked with the book is not covering "Menstruation" as indeed its an integral part of the human cycle.

I would surely recommend this book to beginners, who are an enthusiast and looking to start exploring the subject. It is indeed very light yet gripping.
